History and Achievements
Kirk McLean came to the Canucks from the New Jersey Devils who traded McLean,
Greg Adams and 1988 second-round pick (Leif Rohlin) to Vancouver for Patrik Sundstrom, 1988 second-round pick.
Kirks highlights as a Canuck were winning 38 games in 1991-92 and his remarkable kick save on Robert Reichel in
overtime of game 7 in the first round of the 1994 playoffs. Kirk also went on to set several goaltending records
in the playoffs including minutes played and shut-outs. The Canucks traded McLean away in 1998 with Martin Gelinas for
Sean Burke, Geoff Sanderson and Enrico Ciccone.
