Stanley Hudson is the "funny black guy" in the office, according to Michael. He works in sales, but hates Dunder Mifflin. He doesn't respect Michael
at all, evidenced by his recent outburst at Michael during a staff meeting, and his tendency to do his crossword puzzles when
Michael is talking to him.
Stanley has a daughter, who is deceptively attractive (she's in middle school), whose picture is the focus of
Michael's attention "every morning". Stanley's daughter also recently hit on Ryan, and when Kelly found out, she sicced Stanley on Ryan. Suffice to
say, that was the "scariest experience of" Ryan's life.
Stanley once tried to transfer to the Utica Branch, where Karen, Jim's ex, is the Regional Manager. He intended to bluff Michael into giving him more money, but there was none in the budget. Stanley describes his life as "waking up in a bed that's too small, driving his daughter to a school that's too expensive, and then heading to a job for which I get paid too little... but on Pretzel Day... welllll... I like Pretzel Day." And hence, he reveals one of his only vices.
Stanley is often the focus of Michael's idiotic
views on black people, such as his assuming Stanley was his secret weapon in basketball, and being
outraged when he sucked at it, and his asking Stanley if he got all of his worldly knowledge from the "hood". To be fair, Michael is pretty
ignorant across the board with all races, including Indians, Mexicans, and Asians (his racial impression of his Chinese food delivery guy
didn't go over well at the last Dundie Awards).
