Contemplation

What is it that makes you truly happy? Most of the time it seems as if people have trouble figuring it out for themselves. This emotion is the most basic, but the most important of all. Everyone wants some form of happiness in their lives. It could be fortune, fame or a super fancy car, or on the other hand, it could be as basic as seeing your loved ones smile.
Clear your mind and imagine you are in an empty white room. Think of one thing (person, pet, situation, etc.) that would fill you with happiness.

That one thing may be your purpose in life.

Once you have fully realized what it is that makes you happy, imagine it gone. How do you feel? The loss of something so important will probably increase your awareness of just how important it really is. In your search to figure out what makes you tick, you may realize that it is accompanied by a fear as well. The fear of losing happiness. Embrace it and hold it near always. Life is speeding past you and you might not realize what is really important. There is no need to wait for the day of happiness to reach you; it can be here now if you persuade yourself to embrace it. So go on, enjoy life's simple pleasures.
